Together appoints Richard Jenkins to lead corporate sales in Wales and South West

Specialist property lender Together has appointed Richard Jenkins as its first corporate sales director for Wales and the South West.

Jenkins (pictured), who has nearly 20 years of experience in financial services, will promote the lender’s products to professional introducers and direct customers across the region.

The Cardiff-based director joins Together’s corporate team, which provides loans of between £1 million and £20 million to individuals and businesses.

Jenkins says: “It’s great to be joining a common sense lender which can support SMEs and entrepreneurial individuals without the restrictions of the high street banks.

“I will be Together’s first corporate director specifically covering Wales and the South West, so it is an exciting opportunity for me to grow the brand in a new region.

“I’ll be getting across the message to my large network of professional introducers that Together really has the appetite to support across the region by providing finance needed to grow businesses from inner city Cardiff to the rural communities in West Wales and South West England.”

Jenkins began his financial services career nearly 20 years ago as a cashier at Barclays, before moving into its personal banking team.

He later joined the bank’s corporate team as a support manager to a senior corporate director, working with accounts including Principality Building Society.

Jenkins subsequently spent more than five years managing a portfolio of commercial clients for the Development Bank of Wales. He then joined Metro Bank as commercial lending director for Wales.

Together has a loan book of £8.4 billion and provides bridging loans, commercial and buy-to-let mortgages, and development finance.

Jenkins will report to Mark Eastwood, Together’s group director of corporate sales.

Eastwood says: “Richard has spent his entire career forging strong relationships with businesses across a wide geographical region, so we’re delighted to welcome him to a new role at Together.

“We’ve identified Wales and the South West as one of the key areas for us as we continue our expansion plans to provide Together’s fast and flexible finance to even more clients across the UK.

“Richard’s experience, knowledge and skills will be of huge benefit in realising our growth ambitions.”
