Nivo introduces AI case management service for specialist lenders

Nivo has launched an AI-powered case coordination service designed to reduce the administrative workload involved in processing intermediary lending applications, from initial broker enquiries through to completion.

The new service, Lender Collect, is available to UK bridging, specialist property, commercial and asset finance lenders. It builds on the technology used in Nivo Collect, which is already operating with more than 15 brokers.

The system is designed to manage the collection and verification of information throughout the lending process, while leaving underwriting decisions, approvals and exceptions in the hands of lenders.

Nivo says the technology could help lenders improve turnaround times and increase the volume of cases their existing teams can handle, particularly where applications involve multiple parties and extensive documentation.

FROM BROKER ENQUIRY TO UNDERWRITING

Lender Collect begins processing a case when a broker submits an email containing the initial instructions and supporting documents.

The AI identifies the relevant parties and extracts information including the loan amount, purpose, term, security and proposed exit strategy. It then assesses the application against the lender’s criteria, highlighting potential issues and identifying alternative products where appropriate.

The system subsequently coordinates requests for outstanding information from brokers, borrowers, guarantors and other parties, checking documents for completeness and consistency as they arrive.

It can also populate application forms, arrange signatures, issue reminders and escalate cases where progress has stalled. Company reports and identity verification are incorporated, with optional politically exposed person, sanctions and adverse media screening.

Once the required information has been gathered, Lender Collect prepares an editable underwriting report using the lender’s own template.

This brings together the transaction details, supporting evidence, calculations and any discrepancies requiring attention. Underwriters can review, amend or replace the commentary before reaching a decision.

Following a lending decision, the service converts outstanding conditions into tasks and monitors their completion, including the collection of further documents and signatures through to the signed loan agreement.

Any missing evidence, conflicting information or waived requirements remain visible to the lender.

LENDERS RETAIN CONTROL OF DECISIONS

Michael Common, chief executive of Nivo, says: “Every intermediated lender runs the same process: a query comes in, evidence is gathered, an underwriter decides, and the conditions are worked through to completion.

“The lenders that win are the ones that are fastest and easiest for brokers to deal with.

“Lender Collect answers in minutes rather than days, at any hour, using the lender’s own criteria and documents. That is a conversion play as much as an efficiency play.”

Common says the introduction of the lender-focused service follows the company’s experience of automating document collection and verification for brokers.

He adds: “Nivo Collect showed brokers what an AI assistant can do with the gather, check and chase. Lender Collect brings that to the other side of the deal.

“Underwriters open a draft report built from checked evidence, with the decision firmly theirs. Nothing is approved, waived or decided by the AI.”

The service operates around the clock, allowing brokers and applicants to respond to requests and progress applications outside normal working hours.

Nivo also argues that coordinating tasks across brokers, applicants, solicitors, valuers and other parties could reduce delays caused by incomplete submissions and repeated requests for information.

IMPLEMENTATION AND SECURITY

Lenders can configure the service using their existing product guides, lending criteria, procedures, application forms and underwriting report templates.

Nivo then adapts the system to the lender’s requirements, with new cases initiated by email rather than through a separate application process.

Integration with existing loan origination and customer relationship management systems is available through APIs and webhooks.

Nivo holds ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 42001 certifications, alongside Cyber Essentials Plus, DIATF certification as an identity orchestrator and FSQS registration.

The company says Lender Collect includes encrypted data handling and a full audit trail, with controls to prevent customer information being used to train the underlying AI models.
