Pluto Finance has appointed former Hamburg Commercial Bank real estate head Peter Axmann as a non-executive adviser as the lender expands its presence in Germany.
Axmann (pictured) has more than 40 years of banking experience, including over 30 years in real estate finance, and will support Pluto’s development of its residential and commercial property lending business in the German market.
He began his career at Hamburgische Landesbank, which became part of HSH Nordbank following a merger in 2003, and subsequently held a series of senior real estate positions at the bank.
Most recently, Axmann was head of corporate real estate at its successor, Hamburg Commercial Bank, a position he held until October 2025.
EUROPEAN EXPANSION
Based in Germany, Axmann will work with Pluto’s clients and intermediaries as the private credit platform seeks to expand its development and bridging finance activities in continental Europe.
His appointment follows the recruitment of Ciaran Singh as managing director for Europe and Max Güntner as lending director for Germany and the Netherlands.
Axmann says: “Pluto has built a strong reputation in the UK for its efficient, relationship-led approach to debt finance. I’m excited to work alongside the team in Germany and draw on my experience and relationships in the market to help bring that approach to more borrowers.
“Germany needs lenders like Pluto, who can move quickly and think commercially, and I am delighted to join the team as it builds its platform here.”
Justin Faiz, co-founder and chief executive at Pluto Finance, says: “We are delighted to welcome Peter to Pluto Finance as a non-executive adviser. Having spent his career financing real estate in Germany, he brings exactly the kind of network across the borrower and intermediary community, and experience of lending through multiple cycles that Pluto wants as it expands.
“His appointment comes at an important moment as we build out our continental European platform, and his insight will be invaluable as we grow in the German market.”
