Lakeshield expands BDM and underwriting teams

Lakeshield has appointed two business development managers and a bridging underwriter as the lender looks to support growth in residential, commercial and refurbishment bridging.

The London-based bridging lender has appointed Jon Sturgess and Amjad Ibn-Abdul as business development managers, while Chloe Carlin has joined as an underwriter.

Lakeshield said the appointments reflected continued growth in its origination and credit functions, following higher volumes across residential, commercial and refurbishment bridging.

Sturgess (main picture) joins the BDM team with experience in specialist lending sales, including seven years as head of sales at Masthaven Bank. He has also held roles at TAB and StrideUp, with a focus on intermediary relationships across the specialist finance market.

Ibn-Abdul joins with experience across both lender and broker roles in property finance. His previous positions include Alternative Bridging Corporation, Tuscan Capital and Rainstone Money, covering bridging, commercial and refurbishment finance across the UK.

Carlin joins as bridging underwriter from Kuflink, where she spent nearly a decade in underwriting, case management and sales management roles. Lakeshield said her experience would support its underwriting team as deal volumes increase.

Daniel Rodney, co-founder of Lakeshield, says: “These appointments reflect where we are as a business.

“Amjad and Jon bring broker relationships and deal experience that will extend our reach, and Chloe brings the kind of bridging underwriting depth that helps us maintain the speed and rigour brokers expect from us as we continue to grow.”
