Bibby hire to bolster West Midlands SME funding support

Bibby Financial Services has appointed Gemma Heath as business development manager for the West Midlands.

Heath (pictured) joins the invoice finance provider with more than 16 years of commercial finance experience, having held a series of sales roles at Lloyds Banking Group.

Most recently, she was associate director – trading and working capital, intermediaries at Lloyds Banking Group, where she worked with brokers and introducers across the Midlands and East Midlands.

Heath specialises in invoice finance and holds the ABFA Foundation qualification, as well as a Dunn & Bradstreet Credit Diploma and Huthwaite SPIN selling certification.

Bibby Financial Services said the appointment would support its efforts to grow its presence across the West Midlands and increase funding for SMEs through invoice finance.

David Webb, UK head of broker and introducer at Bibby Financial Services, says: “BFS is in growth mode and with more than £1bn of funding capacity, we have a fantastic opportunity to support SMEs and the intermediary community in 2026 and beyond.

“Attracting someone of Gemma’s calibre is testament to our sales strategy and ambition in the West Midlands and further afield.”

Heath adds: “With the West Midlands Futures Fund seeking to supercharge projects across Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and Wolverhampton, there’s an incredible opportunity for the region’s SMEs to grow and thrive.

“Many of these businesses need greater access to working capital and cashflow support to enable them to seize opportunities, so I’m looking forward to leveraging existing and developing new intermediary partnerships to make this happen.

“With our strong family heritage, financing legacy stretching back almost five decades, and a reputation for supporting businesses through the economic cycle, BFS is well-placed to help SMEs overcome challenges and take advantage of opportunities today.”
