Aldermore appoints Owens to expand asset-based lending in the South

Aldermore has appointed Joshua Owens as business development manager in its asset-based lending team, with a focus on expanding the bank’s presence across the South.

Owens (pictured) will work with brokers, advisers and businesses to widen access to funding for established small and medium-sized enterprises with complex financing requirements.

The appointment forms part of Aldermore’s investment in its asset-based lending operation, which helps businesses release capital tied up in assets to support working capital, expansion and other strategic plans.

Owens joins from Investec Capital Solutions, where he spent almost five years as regional sales director, helping businesses obtain working capital and growth finance.

Before joining Investec, he worked at Bibby Financial Services for nearly five years and held several business development roles. His experience covers invoice finance, asset-based lending, recruitment finance, construction finance and trade finance.

Chris Meldrum, head of business development at Aldermore, says: “We’re delighted to welcome Joshua to the team. He brings a strong record in business development, valuable intermediary relationships and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing SMEs.

“ABL can play an important role in helping established businesses release working capital, invest with confidence and pursue their growth ambitions.

“Joshua’s appointment strengthens our ability to bring these flexible funding solutions to more businesses across the South, while reinforcing Aldermore’s position as a specialist funding partner for SMEs with more complex requirements.”

Owens says: “I’m delighted to join Aldermore as it continues to invest in and expand its Asset Based Lending proposition. In an increasingly dynamic business environment, SMEs require flexible funding solutions that align with their operational needs and growth aspirations.

“Aldermore’s relationship-led approach and deep sector expertise position it strongly to support businesses with their working capital requirements and long-term ambitions.

“I look forward to partnering with brokers and advisers across the South to further extend the reach of Aldermore’s offering, helping more businesses realise their growth potential and achieve their long-term goals.”
