West One adds four to short-term sales team

West One has appointed four people to its short-term sales team after completing more than £500 million of bridging finance this year.

Niamh Downey joins as head of internal sales, while Lux Mathiy has been appointed telephone business development manager.

Vijay Varu becomes business development executive for east London and Essex, and Hanz Rameez joins as telephone business development executive for the North and Scotland.

The lender said the expanded team would help brokers to access its bridging proposition and secure specialist short-term finance for a range of client requirements.

Downey previously managed the internal sales team at specialist finance provider Bluestone. West One said the appointments formed part of its continuing investment in its staff and business development strategy.

Tom Cantor (pictured), co-head of West One’s short-term division, says: “We’ve had a fantastic year so far, with more than half a billion Pounds of bridging loan originations.

“Bringing in talented people like this is another step towards growth as we look to build the industry’s strongest sales team.”

Jez Quinn, head of short-term sales at West One, adds: “I’m really pleased to welcome Niamh, Lux, Vijay and Hanz to the team.

“There’s a clear evolution happening within our sales team, which is scaling our capacity and ensuring that we can keep delivering fantastic results for brokers and clients alike.”
