United Trust Bank has appointed Kate Johnson as regional broker manager as it looks to build further growth in its high-value car finance operation.
Johnson (pictured) joins United Trust Bank Asset Finance with nearly 20 years’ experience across the motor sales and motor finance sectors.
Her career has included roles with Hartwell PLC and MotoNovo Finance, while she spent the past nine years at JBR Capital as senior business development manager, funding luxury, prestige, classic and supercars.
At UTB, Johnson will join the asset finance sales team and report to Astrid Michael, sales & marketing director – asset finance. She will also work alongside Giles Hussey, senior underwriter and lead for the bank’s high-value car transactions.
The appointment follows what UTB described as a strong performance from its asset finance business during 2026, including growth in high-value car lending.
It also comes ahead of the planned wider national roll-out of Stance Asset Finance later this year. The proposition is intended to give brokers a funding option for cases that fall outside UTB’s established asset finance criteria.
Astrid Michael, sales & marketing director – asset finance at United Trust Bank, says: “Kate joins us at an exciting time in the UTB asset finance story, and I’m delighted to welcome her to the sales team.
“We’ve seen considerable growth in our High Value Car business over the last year and we’re keen to keep building on that momentum and cement our position as one of the leading specialist lenders in the space.
“Kate’s knowledge and experience combined with our fantastic underwriting capability will ensure we continue to pull away from our competitors.”
Johnson says: “I’m really excited to be joining UTB and bringing my passion for the motor industry to one of the strongest High Value Car propositions in the market.
“I love working with people who share my interest in beautiful and unusual cars and have the same commitment to delivering outstanding service to brokers and customers.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and relationships to UTB and starting the next chapter of my career with a business with the same passion and ambition.”
