Recognise Bank expands Arbib role to unite lending and operations

Recognise Bank has appointed Ronelle Arbib as chief revenue & operations officer, bringing its lending, savings, operations, product and marketing functions under one executive role.

The newly created position expands Arbib’s responsibilities as the bank reshapes its leadership structure to support further growth in the UK SME lending market.

Recognise said the move is intended to create clearer accountability across the commercial and customer journey, from product development and origination through to completion and ongoing customer management.

The structure will also bring lending and savings more closely together with operations, product and marketing, with the bank aiming to reduce internal hand-offs and respond more quickly to new market opportunities.

Arbib (pictured) has been with Recognise for six years, having joined as head of customer experience in 2020 before becoming chief operating officer in 2022.

In that role she has overseen technology, data, change, product, HR and operations, as well as the bank’s end-to-end customer journey. She has also been involved in developing Recognise’s operating model and its move towards a product-squad structure.

Simon Bateman, chief executive of Recognise Bank, says: “Ronelle has played an important role in Recognise Bank’s development over the last six years and has a strong understanding of our customers and how the Bank operates.

“Her appointment as chief revenue & operations officer is a natural next step as we position the Bank for further growth.

“Bringing lending and savings, operations, product and marketing together will give us clearer accountability across the customer and commercial journey, helping us move faster and respond to new opportunities.

“Ronelle has the full support and confidence of the Board to lead this next phase.”

Ronelle Arbib, chief revenue & operations officer at Recognise Bank, says: “Having been part of Recognise Bank’s journey for the past six years, I’m delighted to take on this new role as we enter the next stage of our growth.

“Bringing these functions together gives us the opportunity to look at the customer and commercial journey from end to end, from identifying what our brokers and customers need and developing the right products, through to origination, completion and ongoing support.

“Our focus will be on making it easier and quicker to do business with Recognise, while retaining the practical, relationship-led approach that has been central to the Bank’s success.

“We have a significant opportunity ahead of us and I’m looking forward to working with teams across the Bank to build on the progress we have already made.”
