Aldermore has appointed James Evans as a business development manager in its commercial real estate team, with a remit to support property development lending across the North of England.
Evans (pictured) joins the bank from Nexa Finance, where he worked as a business development manager supporting customers with development finance.
He has also held senior positions at StreamBank and Assetz Capital, specialising in development, bridging and wider property finance.
Before moving into specialist lending, Evans spent more than 17 years with Santander in relationship management and director-level roles. His work included supporting property investors, developers and commercial customers across the north west and wider UK market.
The appointment forms part of Aldermore’s plans to expand its property development proposition and increase its presence among brokers, investors and developers in northern England.
Azfar Rizvi, commercial director for corporate and commercial lending at Aldermore, says: “James brings a wealth of experience across both traditional banking and specialist property finance, along with a strong understanding of the market in the North of England.
“His appointment further strengthens our commercial real estate team and enhances the support we provide to brokers and customers across the region.
“Property development is a key growth area for Aldermore and an important part of supporting the development of homes, commercial space and communities across the UK.
“We’re continuing to invest in our proposition, our people and our relationships across the market, and James will play an instrumental role in strengthening our presence across the North and supporting developers as they pursue new opportunities.”
Evans says: “I’m excited to be joining Aldermore, which has built such a strong reputation in the CRE market through its specialist expertise and commitment to understanding its customers.
“The opportunity to join a relationship-led team with flexibility to develop funding solutions around customers’ individual needs was a major attraction to me. With Aldermore continuing to invest in its Property Development proposition, it’s an exciting time to join the business.
“I’m looking forward to working with brokers and customers across the North, building lasting relationships and helping bring ambitious property projects to life.”
