Charles Street Finance has created a field-based business development team as it targets growth in its loan book to £1 billion.
The Cheadle-based lender has appointed three business development managers to increase its representation across the UK.
The new team will report to Carl Graham, corporate relationship director, and takes Charles Street Finance’s total workforce to 33.
Sabiha Moghal has joined as business development manager for the Midlands, with responsibility extending into Wales. She has more than 20 years’ experience in funding, including roles at State Bank of India, HSBC and Lloyds TSB Finance. She has worked as a business development manager in her past three positions.
Moghal says: “When the opportunity came to join the Charles Street team, I didn’t hesitate. The business has a strong ambition for growth in a region that, so far, has been untapped.
“I am delighted to be able to introduce a fast flexible lender to my customers and contacts in the region.”
Lisa Seaton has been appointed business development manager for Yorkshire, Humberside and the Northeast. She previously held a similar role at the Co-operative Bank for Intermediaries, with earlier roles at Stonebridge Group, Tenet Group and Scottish Life.
Based in Leeds, Seaton will also work with clients in Scotland.
Seaton says: “It is such an exciting time to join Charles Street. The trajectory plans for the business demonstrate a real attitude to find solutions for commercial and personal finance customers.
“Having previously worked in a broker-led environment I am keen to expand my reach to also work with direct customers.”
Victor Williams has joined as business development manager for London and the South, where he will focus on building the lender’s presence and developing a funding pipeline.
Williams brings commercial real estate lending experience from Habib Bank AG Zurich, Metro Bank and Barclays. Charles Street said he would also support demand for revolving credit facilities in the region.
Williams says: “I’m impressed by Charles Street’s offer to provide brokers with flexibility and speed. The business’ desire to find the right outcomes for its customers means that every case is judged on its merit with a strong appetite to find flexible funding solutions.
“It’s a compelling offer for my customers and contacts in the South.”
Graham adds: “It is fantastic to recruit the first representatives of our field-based BDM team. We know that the market is in need of a finance partner that can bring agility and a strong appetite to support clients from the reception that we have in the Northwest.
“With Sabiha, Lisa and Victor on the team we are ready to mine opportunities and build long lasting relationships with customers and business partners across the UK.”
