Aldermore has appointed Kitty Byrne as project finance lead in its energy and infrastructure team as the bank seeks to expand its support for projects linked to the UK’s energy transition and long-term infrastructure requirements.
Byrne (pictured) joins from the Green Finance Institute, where she was most recently a senior associate, and has more than five years’ experience in structured finance, debt advisory and sustainable investment.
She will work with customers and intermediaries as Aldermore develops its energy and infrastructure business and considers a growing pipeline of funding opportunities.
Before joining the Green Finance Institute, Byrne worked at NatWest across several structured finance and debt advisory teams. She supported financing transactions in renewable energy, energy storage, transport and infrastructure, gaining experience in complex debt structures and client relationship management.
Lauren Pamma, head of energy and infrastructure at Aldermore, says: “We’re delighted to welcome Kitty to Aldermore. She brings a valuable combination of structured finance expertise, sustainability knowledge and strong stakeholder management skills, developed through her work at both NatWest and the Green Finance Institute.
“The UK’s transition to a lower-carbon economy is creating significant demand for specialist funding across energy and infrastructure. We’re seeing strong momentum in the sector, supported by a growing pipeline and a number of recently completed transactions.
“Kitty’s appointment strengthens our ability to respond to that demand, deepen our relationships with customers and support more high-quality projects. Her experience will be a real asset as we continue to grow our proposition and establish Aldermore as a trusted specialist finance partner in this market.”
Byrne adds: “I’m thrilled to be joining Aldermore at such an important point in the growth of its Energy and Infrastructure business.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about helping unlock investment in projects that deliver lasting economic and environmental benefits, and Aldermore’s ambition in this market really stood out to me.
“I’m looking forward to building relationships with customers and intermediaries, supporting a wide range of projects and working alongside a talented team that combines deep sector expertise with a clear committed to helping its customers achieve their ambitions.”
