UKREiiF to launch Australian event in 2027

The company behind the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) is to launch its first overseas event in Australia in 2027.

The event will bring together international and domestic investors, developers, occupiers and built environment professionals to promote regeneration and investment opportunities across Australia.

It will seek to connect global capital with projects spanning residential and commercial property, transport, infrastructure and retail, as well as renewable energy, digital infrastructure and defence.

UKREiiF says the Australian event will replicate the public and private sector collaboration behind its annual gathering in Leeds, helping places and projects secure investment and development partners.

Nathan Spencer, founding director and managing director of UKREiiF, says: “Australia is entering an extraordinary period of growth, and the global players within our industry are frequently discussing the opportunities coming forward in the country.

“Our ambition is to create something genuinely different for the Australian market – a major international festival that tells the stories of each state, city and town across Australia, and one that builds the relationships that see global capital deployed and projects moved forward.

“Since launching UKREiiF in 2022 we’re aware of over £4billion of investment and development activity either at planning or spades in the ground stage all as a direct result of introductions and discussions held at UKREiiF and we’re excited to bring this model and event to Australia to have a similar impact.”

UKREiiF attracted more than 17,000 delegates in 2026 and now claims to be the UK’s largest gathering for the real estate and infrastructure sectors.

Its three-day Leeds event generates more than £20m for the local economy annually and has created over £7m of social value, according to its organisers. More than £300bn of investable UK opportunities are showcased to investors, developers and occupiers each year.

“The event will build on the principles that have driven UKREiiF’s growth.”

Matt Christie, founding director and director of external affairs at UKREiiF, adds: “The event will build on the principles that have driven UKREiiF’s growth, including its festival-style, strong public and private sector participation and focus on connecting places and projects with investors, development partners and the wider built environment who are so crucial to making successful schemes happen.

“Alongside traditional sectors we’ll explore those that will shape the next generation of investment across Australia – from housing, renewable energy and the energy transition, digital and AI infrastructure, social infrastructure, major sporting and cultural districts, creating successful city precincts and more.

“We’ll also be continuing to focus on the core values we’ve had so close to our heart with UKREiiF, from sustainability to diversity and inclusion – with a commitment to creating a platform that reflects the breadth of communities, perspectives and voices that shape Australia.”

Recruitment for the event is being finalised, with its date and venue expected to be announced within the next few months.
