Hope Capital raises Shawbrook funding facility to £50m

Hope Capital Property Finance has increased its committed funding facility with Shawbrook Bank to £50 million, taking its total committed funding to £160 million.

The specialist short-term lender initially secured a £15 million facility from Shawbrook in 2023, before agreeing further increases in 2024 and 2025.

The latest uplift forms part of Hope Capital’s wider funding strategy. Earlier this quarter, its committed senior funding line facilitated by Triple Point increased to £75 million, following the addition of a £35 million facility from Hampshire Trust Bank in June.

Hope Capital reports that its loan book grew by 61% during 2025, while applications increased by 86% and funded facilities rose by 46%. Its lending pipeline expanded by 15%, while the number of loans exceeding their agreed term fell by 49%.

The lender says that momentum has continued into 2026, with enquiries increasing by 45% year on year and applications rising by 30%.

Warren Mutch, head of speciality and fund finance at Shawbrook, says: “Hope Capital Property Finance has delivered consistent and sustainable growth, underpinned by disciplined underwriting and a clear strategic direction.

“It’s been rewarding to support the business over several years as our partnership has evolved, and this latest increase reflects both the strength of the relationship and our confidence in the team as they continue to expand.”

Kate Cowan, chief financial and operating officer at Hope Capital Property Finance, says: “This enhanced facility strengthens our day-to-day operational capacity and ensures we are well positioned to manage increasing volumes while maintaining the standard of service we are known for.

“Our focus remains on scaling sustainably and continuing to build on the success we’ve had.”

Jonathan Sealey, chief executive officer at Hope Capital Property Finance, says: “The continued support from Shawbrook Bank is a significant endorsement of both our performance and our long-term strategy.

“Alongside our recent funding milestones with Triple Point and Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB), this enhanced facility ensures we have the strength, flexibility and liquidity to continue supporting brokers and borrowers as demand for specialist bridging finance continues to grow.

“As we continue to expand, maintaining strong relationships with trusted funding partners remains central to our strategy and our ability to deliver market-leading service.”

The lender says its enlarged funding base will support further growth in its lending operations and help it meet demand from brokers and borrowers across the UK bridging market.
