Chetwood Bank establishes new City base at Tower 42

Chetwood Bank has opened a new London office at Tower 42 as it expands its wholesale banking activities and wider property finance presence.

The move gives the bank, whose CHL Mortgages brand operates in the bridging market, a new base in the City of London as its balance sheet reaches £7 billion.

Chetwood has relocated its London operation from Eccleston Place to Tower 42, close to Threadneedle Street and the Bank of England. The office joins its existing locations in Fleet, Manchester and Wrexham.

The expansion follows the launch of Chetwood’s wholesale banking division, alongside a number of senior appointments as the bank increases its activity across structured finance, commercial real estate and investment.

Alex Grove has been appointed managing director of wholesale banking, Toby Sharp has joined as director of commercial real estate and Nirvan Sunderam has become managing director of wholesale risk.

The bank says the new office will provide a central location for colleagues and partners as it develops its wholesale and property finance operations.

Paul Noble (main picture), chief executive of Chetwood Bank, says: “Tower 42 is an iconic building in the heart of the City and gives us a London base that reflects the scale and ambition of Chetwood Bank today.

“As we enter the next phase of our journey, the new office gives us the right environment to support collaboration, deepen relationships and continue growing the business.”
