Hope Capital expands Scottish dual legal representation panel

Hope Capital Property Finance has appointed Aberdein Considine and Carters to expand its dual legal representation offering in Scotland.

The specialist lender said the appointments would help it to streamline transactions, reduce costs for borrowers and complete Scottish bridging loans more quickly.

The expansion follows changes made this month to Dual+, Hope Capital’s residential bridging product. The lender increased the product’s dual legal representation threshold to £1 million and introduced instant valuations at the enquiry stage.

Dual+ is intended for borrowers seeking a quicker completion. Key underwriting work, including the valuation, is completed when a case reaches the sales department, with support from the lender’s packaging team.

Under dual legal representation, the same solicitor acts on the transaction, reducing duplication in the legal process. Hope Capital said this could shorten turnaround times and lower borrowers’ costs.

The appointments follow the extension last year of Hope Capital’s no-upfront legal undertaking offering to properties in Scotland.

Leanne Warrender, partner at Aberdein Considine, says: “We are delighted to be appointed by Hope Capital Property Finance as a dual legal representation partner in Scotland.

“Hope Capital has built a strong reputation for delivering fast, flexible and transparent funding solutions, and this enhanced approach will help make the legal process even more efficient for brokers and borrowers.

“We look forward to developing our relationship with the Hope Capital team and supporting the continued growth of its Scottish lending proposition.”

Oliver Craig, director at Carters, says: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Hope Capital Property Finance as a dual legal representation partner in Scotland.

“This is an innovative model that delivers real, tangible benefits for brokers and borrowers – faster completions, reduced costs, and a more streamlined transaction process from start to finish.

“Hope Capital has a proven track record of lending in Scotland, and we share their commitment to delivering speed, flexibility, and an exceptional level of service.

“We look forward to working closely with the team to help ensure Scottish borrowers can access finance as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

Laura Carr (pictured), director of underwriting, compliance and stakeholder relations at Hope Capital Property Finance, adds: “We’ve been proudly operating in Scotland since 2018 and understand what it takes to get deals completed efficiently.

“Funding in Scotland requires a lender with the right expertise, and this enhancement to our offering, alongside our partnerships with Aberdein Considine and Carters reinforces our commitment to delivering speed, flexibility, and transparency to brokers and borrowers alike.”
