Together unveils new senior corporate lending hire

Together has appointed an experienced property finance professional as corporate sales director in the North East, strengthening its reach across key regional markets.

Helen Calderley has joined the specialist lender with more than 20 years’ experience in banking and property finance, and will focus on growing origination across the North East through relationships with brokers, introducers and corporate borrowers.

Her role will centre on increasing awareness of Together’s specialist lending proposition, including bridging, commercial and semi-commercial finance, as the lender continues to expand its footprint across the UK. Together, headquartered in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, has a loan book of £8.1 billion.

Calderley (pictured) joins from Cambridge & Counties Bank, where she was a business development manager in real estate covering the North East. Her remit included supporting a wide range of borrowers, from corporate clients to buy-to-let holiday let investors, as well as more complex and specialist cases.

She has also held senior roles at Assetz Capital, where she focused on development finance, and at Yorkshire Bank as a business development manager in the region. Earlier in her career, she worked at Barclays and RBS in business relationship roles, with a focus on real estate lending.

Calderley says: “I was the first person responsible for growing Cambridge & Counties presence in the North East and am looking forward to expanding Together’s offering on a greater scale with a wide product set and the backing of a forward-thinking company, to provide the finance needed to unlock clients’ property ambitions.

“I’m relishing the new challenge at Together, to spread the message about how our lending can help existing and new customers access opportunities across the North East.

“I know the business well having worked for competitors, and have seen how it puts people at its heart – I already feel part of the family.”

Together’s corporate lending team provides facilities typically ranging from £1 million to £20 million, supporting transactions such as property and land acquisition, refinancing and equity release. The lender remains active across bridging and structured finance, particularly where borrowers require speed or flexibility.

Calderley will report to Mark Eastwood, director of corporate sales at Together.

Eastwood adds: “Helen will be of huge benefit to Together as we continue to grow our corporate team and business opportunities across the UK.

“She has a wealth of expertise and experience in banking and property lending and has the determination to drive our regional expansion at an exciting time in our business’s growth.”
