MSP Capital has appointed Ben Arnold as director of property services as part of plans to grow its loan book towards £750m.
Arnold (main picture) brings more than 25 years’ experience across residential and commercial property, valuation, development land and planning in the south of England.
A chartered surveyor since 2005, he previously held senior roles at Savills, where he became Development Director and headed the south coast valuation team, advising on residential-led development schemes.
He later joined regional housebuilder Pennyfarthing Homes as Land and Planning Director, acquiring and promoting more than 3,000 strategic land plots and securing planning consent for 1,885 homes, including 650 affordable units. He also led delivery of the UK’s first strategic phosphate mitigation scheme.
His arrival follows MSP’s recent launch of reduced rates across development and bridging products, supported by £350m in new funding lines from J.P. Morgan and Pollen Street Capital. The facility underpins ambitions to build a loan book of £750m or more over the next five years.
PROJECT DELIVERY
Arnold says: “I’ll be utilising my past experiences in a range of property roles to lead and support the team and our customers to help deliver their projects to a successful conclusion.”

Leigh Bartlett, CEO of MSP Capital, adds: “A highly experienced property professional, Ben brings extensive knowledge in development, planning and valuation.
“His skills and insight will help strengthen our relationship-led lending and the benefits we bring to our clients through robust, flexible lending solutions.”
The appointment signals MSP’s intent to deepen in-house property expertise as competition intensifies across the development and bridging markets.
